Fright yellow handles make them easy to find in the garden and the 'soft feel' grips offer comfort and control. Herefordshire Growing Point provides:

 

Visits to the Demonstration Garden (parties or individuals) by arrangement. There are examples of various containers for growing flowers and vegetables.  Regular maintenance days in the Demonstration Garden, designed for those who are interested in working in an accessible garden.  Therapeutic gardening sessions in the Demonstration Garden or in the community e.g. mobile day centres, residential homes, sheltered housing.  Training sessions for carers, volunteers, wardens etc., garden advice for the elderly and those with disabilities and limited mobility on adapting their own garden to one of low maintenance, talks on various topics throughout the year.  If you live in a residential home or attend a day centre and would like us to set up a gardening session for your group, or if you would like to be involved in a gardening group and visit the demonstration garden, please contact.

Objectives are:  to provide emotional support to patients, their families and friends; to provide, when possible, personal visits by former patients to those currently in hospitals and rehabilitation centres and to those recovering; to supply a comprehensive short guide for patients, relatives and friends, and other literature, so that patients and their families can learn what to expect during the illness; to educate the public and medical community about the Support Group and maintain their awareness of the illness;  to foster research into the cause, treatment and other aspects of the illness; to encourage special interest groups, e.g. CIDP, GBS in pregnancy, and GBS in children; and to encourage financial support for the Group’s activities.
